flesh colored world
By: Keith (Donyel)
Some days I don't know where to stop or where I should begin, living in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin. Sometimes I appear to be looking out only to discover that I am looking in. Trying my hardest to smile and only cracking a grin. Attempting to hold my world still, and being caught in a spin, in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin. Hard to be me when I am taught to be you, hard not to tell a lie when I cannot see the truth. Hard to be soft when the world is so hard, and difficult to thank the lord when I believe in GOD. See someday's break easy and others are hard to bend, living in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin. Conscious minds living a racist life, caught up in the drama and believing that everything's alright. No where to turn and too tired to run, afraid to put up your dukes so you brandish a gun. For my boy and my girl I fight to win, living in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin. So many choices to make and few choices are made, so many offerings to be taken and so few sacrifices made. The sun shines on us all and yet many of us are in the dark. The blood flows through our veins and yet many of us have no heart. You thought because you crossed the finish line that it was your time to win, living in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin. From the four corners of the globe we wage our wars. Chastised by the wealthy who are controlled by the whores, hard to open a window when you can't get in the door. A fist full of fury a mind full of hate, our thought process is so narrow that we fill with hate. The answers my people are possibly just blowing right in the wind, living in this flesh colored world, being judged by my flesh colored skin.
